It is not unusual that women will tell me, “I never wanted to be THAT girl.”
Have you ended up being THAT girl? How you feel about that? Who is THAT girl?
Is she the one who fears pity from others?
Is she the one with a medical problem but she blames herself?
Is she the one who is grieving her baby and her dreams?
Is she the one who feels judged by others and, in turn, judges others?
Is she the one who screams and cries in frustration at times?
Is she the one who wants to be understood, in the midst of her pain and loss?
Is she the one who has grit and determination to do what she must, even when she doesn’t want to?
Is she the one who falls apart now and again, because she has the right to do so?
Is she the one who is jealous of others’ babies and bellies?
Is she the one who sometimes feels hopeless and helpless?
Is she the one who doesn’t know if she can go on, but she goes on anyway?
Is she the one who feels victimized, but who refuses to be a victim?
Is she the one who asks for help?
Is she the one who would like you to hush up and just listen?
Can you find some love and respect for THAT girl? She could use it.
Are you THAT girl now? THAT girl is doing her best, under some pretty crummy circumstances.
THAT girl is pretty awesome, don’t you think?
